For final year honours students in Mathematics (standard and applied).
Also available as an option to Masters degree students.
Content:
See the calendar. The course divides equally between useful techniques
and rigorous analysis of the techniques.
We will not analyse all the techniques in full.
Assessment:
You will implement techniques in individual project work,
for 40% of the grade. The rest will be determined by your
performance on the 2-hour final examination.
I will not be teaching the basics of programming. You need
to be able to program in some procedural language before
we start. If you can't do that now, you could attend
the crash course MT401 in Semester I.
